Reviews
Cozy Italian restaurant in a proverbial neighborhood, we ordered the grilled octopus salad and the truffle gnocchi. They were both great, and the service was amazing as well. We had a delightful dinner here.
First Italian meal in New York and it didn't disappoint. Excellent food and service. Cozy and intimate dining area. Excellent value! Came back for a second time before vacation was over.
This is not Italian food. I am not sure what ingredient they used for the lasagne or why the clam pasta was a soup, overcooked cheap spaghetti medley. Seriously, it’s not that hard to make a plate of pasta.
They would not even put enough care to chop garlic. Look at the chunks that were in the pasta. I understand it was Halloween night, but I didn’t want to become a vampire. We didn’t eat and left. Waiters could not care less. Cute spot, but if you go for the food you’re in the wrong place. Or maybe you never tried Italian food…
One of the best meals of my life! As long as you skip past the questionably and confusing hostess…
We made a reservation for here at 5pm and arrived on time. The inside is very tight, and super tiny. The minute we are seated inside, the hostess tells us they have a large party and that we need to leave in an hour - that’s doable as long as the food gets here quickly. We then proceed to wait 15 minutes to actually get our orders placed as the hostess does not take orders and is pacing back and forth as the place got more crowded. I really don’t know why she told us to finish in an hour when we had a reservation? We then heard her tell another group that the large party was arriving at 7:30! 😒 why were we being rushed at 5??? But regardless of this weird situation - food was phenomenal.
We had the Caesar salad, octopus salad, crab cakes, bruschetta, house seafood pasta, and truffle gnocchi (my favorite). I cannot stop thinking about this particular meal. I’m definitely coming back!
this place is an example of why i believe michelin is often wrong about its selection of restaurants. octopus salad was good; but the pasta is average. i’ve been to italy and multiple other european countries, but this place was not better than any of the restaurants i’ve been in europe. servers are neither rude nor polite. the owner is typical italian man who just wants to talk to female customers and go by his own pace. it took more than 15 minutes (i asked him 3 times too) for him to get my drink because he was exchanging social media accounts with a female customer. it’s new york so the place is tiny which i think is ok and that’s what makes it new york. if you are looking for either authentic italian cuisine or tasty pasta, my advice is to look for another place. it’s new york. there are thousands of better places.
So delicious! We got the truffle Mac n cheese and lobster tortelloni and both were amazing and good portions. Great value for money and wonderful service. Cute cozy place. We came in on a Friday for lunch and were the only ones there. They deserve more business though!
Cozy Italian Restaurant in downtown Manhattan.
Food was tasty and delicious. The establishment has limited seating but I promise you, you’ll enjoy your time.
We wanted to order the octopus but they didn’t have it on their menu. We ordered pasta dishes one with sausage and the other with mushrooms.
Pricing is fair, wish they served a bit more. The wait staff is extremely attentive and professional. The bar area is absolutely beautiful along with the decor of the establishment.
Highly recommend this beautiful and friendly italian spot.
Made a reservation for 3 for 8:30, but the staff was very accommodating getting us in early at 7. Now the food... We ordered the tuna tartare and the mozzarella pomodoro for starters. The tuna tartare was raw tuna on top of premade guacamole. The tuna was good quality, but the guacamole was very surprising coming from a Michelin star restaurant. The Mozzarella Pomodoro was even more shocking. The 'heirloom" tomatoes were horrible. They looked like the scraps that should've been thrown away. An Italian restaurant should always have excellent tomatoes and mozzarella. For entrees, we ordered the truffle gnocchi and the lasagna which were specials, and then the pasta bolognese. The gnocchi and lasagna were delicious, the bolognese was good too, but nothing to write home about. On the side we got the fagiolini which were French beans with garlic and those were probably my favorite part of the meal.
